Hey There!

👋 I’m James

I believe that creative thinking and empathy are tools that can shape a more thoughtful and impactful future.

I enjoy finding solutions to any problem with the steps needed to move forward in any application.

My approach to UX design is deeply rooted in the principles of craftsmanship and user-centricity, akin to my passion for woodworking. Every touchpoint is an opportunity to address real-world problems and find practical solutions. I commit to understanding the user’s journey and how it translates to designs that are not only functional but also beautiful.

By harmonizing the thought and analysis needed to create in the physical world with the digital finesse of UX design, I hope to always craft user experiences that are intuitive and inclusive. I believe this method of design thinking is crucial since any digital interaction requires an understanding of how it manifests in the physical world.

The ultimate goal is to bridge the gap between the digital and the physical, ensuring that every product is a testament to the user’s needs and aspirations.

The Same Rules Apply

Much like digital product design for work, when I create physical things for fun, I think user centricly. The same questions and rules apply.

• Who is my target audience?
• What problem is being solved?
• What is the desired look and feel?

These are all very important things to consider when making good digital AND physical products.

Final Thoughts

In one of my many previous lives, before my career in UI/UX Design, I was an Art Director doing agency work and managing projects for clients like Honda, Acura, Toyota Connected and more. Ive worked with large corporations, to small coffee shops, to non profit organizations. I believe that good design influences the world around us and I’m dedicated to providing user centered design that makes sense for all types of users in all industries.
